Part of Scouting is giving back to the community through service. This is embodied in the Scout slogan, “Do a good turn daily.” Each Scout rank has required service hours, and Scouts working toward the Eagle rank have to plan, organize, and lead a project that has a lasting impact on a group outside Scouts.
Events that boys’ Troop 141 helps with include:
- Participating in the annual Scouting for Food drive to help needy families in our community
- Assisting with the Minnesota Transportation Museum‘s annual Pumpkin Express family train event
- Helping with Elim Lutheran Church‘s annual Mardi Gras celebration
- Directing traffic for the Palmer Lake VFW‘s Memorial Day service at Mound Cemetery
- And others as needed
