Troop 141 Merit Badge Opportunities

Scoutmaster Bucky has been run by Brian Reiners since 2009, and offers events for Scouts to earn merit badges and rank advancement, as well as leader training opportunities. The events are council-approved, and open to all Scouts.

Ten Ring

Ten Ring is a non-profit specializing in firearm and archery training for youth and leaders. They typically offer Archery merit badge and Rifle Shooting merit badge classes.

Northwest Coin Club

The Northwest Coin Club offers a one-day Coin Collecting merit badge class at their annual Money Show in March.

North Star Museum of Scouting

The North Star Museum of Boy Scouting & Girl Scouting offers dozens of Scouts BSA merit badge workshops every year, using registered merit badge counselors to lead these workshops. Most workshops take place at the museum in North St. Paul.

Northern Star Council

The Northern Star Council’s Stuff to Do page has links to upcoming merit badge events, including those from outside groups as well as the University of Scouting.

Epic Merit Badges

Epic Merit Badges was founded by Scouters in Hawaii and offers many different online merit badge classes taught by registered BSA merit badge counselors. Currently, most merit badges cost $20.

ScoutConnect (Heart of America Council)

The Heart of America Council’s ScoutConnect program offers virtual merit badge sessions. Scouts from out-of-council must seek out a local merit badge counselor to complete the merit badge after finishing the tutorial and worksheet.

Central Florida Council

Scouts can earn several different merit badges online via the Central Florida Council. These are open to anyone across the country, and the council offers 3–5 different merit badges each month.

Western Los Angeles County Council

Several times a year, the Western Los Angeles County Council gives Scouts the opportunity to earn several different merit badge during their Virtual Merit Badge University.

MeritBadgeCourses.com

Started and operated by an Eagle Scout, MeritBadgeCourses.com provides virtual merit badge classes run by registered BSA merit badge counselors. Most classes are about $15.

CodeEasily

For Scouts interested in STEM, CodeEasily (in conjunction with the Atlanta Area Council) sometimes presents merit badge workshops where Scouts work on multiple STEM-related merit badges.
